Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Went over dimensional analysis involving conversions of kilo, centi, and mili units as well as moles and grams involving molar mass."
"Student and tutor completed review questions (balancing chemical equations). Student did not need much assistance because balancing equations was her strength in chemistry."
"We reviewed material for the student's upcoming Chemistry test. Most of the material had to do with periodic law, which I gave a general explanation of, but there were some sections based on the history of the periodic table that was more about memorization than anything else. We then moved on to pre-calculus, where we worked on a worksheet involving factoring polynomials using perfect squares, difference of squares, sum and difference of cubes, and four-term factoring. The student seemed to be understanding the material very well, and I was even able to show the student some new techniques for factoring out polynomials with leading coefficients."
"The student and I went over her homework assignment focused on acid/base chemistry. She was able to identify acids and bases and also acidic/basic pH values during our session."
"The student and I went over her syllabus and some topics I believe are commonly difficult for beginner chemistry students. She seemed familiar with many of the topics, and I only made sure to emphasize some strategies to help her in the future. I have a good feeling she will do well in chemistry."
"The student and I went over his lab assignments; identifying a mystery organic acid spread out over different experiments throughout the semester and concepts so he can do his makeup final."
