"The student and I worked on the essay portion. She did a times essay, and then we went over how to make it even better, and she wrote another essay, which reflected the advised changes."
"At the beginning of the session we had a brief discussion on dyslexia coping strategies. The student found this very helpful and worth considering as something to work on going forward. We then worked on the Improving Sentences question type. He has very good instincts and we focused on helping him analyze why a given sentence or answer choice "sounds wrong" to him."
"The student progressed SO much better this session! She's consistently getting great scores in the math section (17/17 right and skipped 3, 15/17 right and skipped 2, etc.), and she's vastly improved. She's doing exponentially better in geometry, and she's an excellent algebra student. My biggest concern for her in the math section would be time and mental math, as her mental math could use an improvement in accuracy and speed for her to give herself enough time to tackle the harder problems. It's nice to know that she CAN do the problems, though! Her writing section is easily her strongest section, with the only thing missing, truthfully, is her speed in the section. She's able to get maybe 95% of the questions right, and she's able to answer about 95% of the section, which turns out to be a pretty good percentage! Her most challenging area may be critical reading, and that's where we'll be spending the most time in our next session."
