"Today we started using complex numbers. We performed some algebra on the equations and we went over simple arithmetic with the formulas. We spent about an hour on that. He had some problems with the "FOIL" method with the precalculus. I slowly stepped through how I got my answer. My plan is to review this again on our next session on Monday. We then continued to review projectile motion problems in physics. We then step through some equations to show how to calculate the maximum range."
"We worked on her homework together, which involved basic trigonometry identities (finding the trig functions of different values) and finding the exact measurements of sides in right triangles using the trigonometry functions."
"The student has a weekly quiz and homework. We did the homework which was on interval notation and it's use for listing when a function is increasing or decreasing and giving it's domain and range. The homework also had local extrema defined. The quiz touched on the domain and range parts, but also includes a lot of unit circle problems. She is good with her placing of special triangles in the unit circle which will help a lot."

We worked mostly on how alterations to parent functions changed graphical representations of the equations. She struggles with putting the equations in graph form but does fine with using the functions to applied problems. We will meet again next week to talk about the test and go over any new material."

He used the chart to find values of the inverse functions  I showed him how to find negative values using ASTC. It took a few examples for him to get the hang of it, but he was able to use the chart on his own by the end."

"The student is starting a new chapter in precalculus, and he had a homework assignment that he wanted help completing. He has now started working with the unit circle. The homework assignment dealt with identifying angles, radians, and reference angles. He had to draw a given angle or radian on a grid and determine the reference angle. He also had to know how to find the 6 trig functions.
He appeared to get a better handle on how to find radians on a circle. He was able to answer the questions on his own by the end. He still has the occasional slip up of switching a number or forgetting a negative, but he can do well. He just needs to maintain focus."
