Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student put his writing assignment on the board and we went over it. Then I showed him two little video clips, one on past tense verbs that use etre, and another of a poem using all verbs in passe compose. Then we reviewed the verb vouloir in three tenses, present, passe compose, and imparfait. He seems to know the material pretty well. Then we did some drills with the verb vouloir and food items (what do you want to eat, etc.). We practiced questions and answers, and looking for the answer embedded in the question."
"Today we covered mainly the pronoun "en", as well as more advanced food vocabulary in French. I gave him some random example sentences based on practical vocabulary that he was lacking. He is starting to be able to converse more in French, which I am happy about."
"I spent the time helping the first student write a letter to his pen pal. He responded to his questions and added a few of his own. I helped the second student review exercises with the verbs savoir and connaitre; she also read and responded to questions pertaining the text."
"We practiced the preterite tense today. The student did an excellent job conjugating the verbs in preterite. He also learned new vocabulary related to clothing. His Spanish pronunciation is awesome! He will be fluent in Spanish pretty soon!!!"
"We practiced vocabulary words from the student's trip. We discussed the hardest things about speaking Spanish throughout the trip and implemented past tense conjugations for irregular verbs. We will work on conjugating irregular verbs next week."
"We practiced what we covered last session. The student is feeling more comfortable but she is diving in on her own to materials that are creating more confusion for her. I have asked her to stick with things related to our lessons so she does not get overwhelmed and discouraged."
