"Systems applications: using two linear equations to solve real life problems. Student seemed to feel more comfortable extracting a system of equations from a word problem."
"Today, the student did well once again. We worked specifically on her listening skills. I brought over a listening exercise where she had to listen to French speakers and write down the answers to the questions I created. She struggled on a few of them but overall she did very well. Next week we will be working on her conversation skills as she has the vocabulary to begin to work on that much more."
"We worked on very irregular but useful verbs this morning: want, can, know and have to. There were many repetitions because of the many irregularities in the conjugation but by the end the student was able to create sentences - with the correct form of the verb - expressing what she wanted/could etc. do this week. Here and there we reviewed the use of the passe compose when it came up, but we'll have to come back to that and practice more. The student read a text about tobacco in France. Her pronunciation was very good. We tried to discuss the text naturally and I helped the student with structures and vocabulary she doesn't know how to use yet. I still noticed some progress since last time we did that exercise: the student's sentences were longer and more precise."
