Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued covering the Imperfect and the Preterite. We reviewed exercises the student completed the week before and worked on the correct conjugations and usage of the verbs in the past tense. He spoke about an incident using these verbs in the imperfect and the preterite for about 30 minutes in which I corrected him on his usage of certain verbs, and introduced new vocabulary and expressions to help him with his communication skills. We then reviewed information about flamenco in both past tenses and answered questions about the material in the past as well. He was given two exercises to complete in a book and also sent homework online to complete. He will need to watch a video on flamenco dancing and then write three paragraphs explaining to me what happened in the video. He is doing very well in the sessions and is able to self-correct himself when speaking or when reviewing his writing."
"We covered indirect object pronouns, direct object pronouns, sentence formation, formal commands, and listening comprehension."
"We reviewed the material. We practiced conversation, telling time, and using gustar and querer to talk about food. I left the student with several worksheets to continue practice."
"Today, we worked on listening skills by watching a video and then answering comprehension questions. In addition to those questions, we studied the forms of the subjunctive mood and how to recognize when to use them, and we put that into practice with some exercises. The student plans to continue to review her new vocab daily. She has excellent listening and speaking skills."
"Today, we worked on the last unit of the course. We reviewed concepts like commands on nosotros form and possessive pronouns like -mio/a, tuyo/a, and suyo/a. We also read a couple of chapters dedicated to communication between family members and how to resolves issues."
