Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I helped the student understand the exponential and greatest integer function. Solved the problems at the end of the section. The lesson went very well. The student is bright and understands the concepts very quickly. I note great progress in working with this student."
"Today's session served as a review for the student's upcoming test. We focused on her homework problems, as well as the review that the teacher provided. We covered many topics including matrices basics, solving systems of equations using matrices, Cramer's Rule, decoding, determinants and inverse matrices."
"The student and I started with a look at her last test. Today she had an assignment on finding the slopes and secant-line equations for points on functions. This is priming her for the derivative."
"Today the student and I worked on kinematic equations, polynomial long division, asymptotes, and graphing discontinuous functions. The student was diligent. We discussed the general form of kinematic equations and identified the different types of discontinuous functions and their corresponding graphs."
"We focused on synthetic as well as long division, also what to do with remainders and a slight intro into using Excel to plot and test functions. The student was very quick to pick up and understand division. I think she shows a great aptitude in problem solving."
"The student has the PSAT coming up next week, so we spent the majority of our time together prepping for that. She said she's doing really well on the other sections, but more worried about the math. While she was working through practice problems, we talked about things she'll need to remember for the test, especially exponent rules. I wish her the best of luck, and know she can do really well! We are planning on going over it when she gets it back. We also previewed the next section her class will be covering, and tapped into the prior knowledge that she'll need. I'm optimistic about getting her back on track, and let her know that compared to most humans in the world, she is amazing at math."
