Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I corrected every mistake he made on his previous test in preparation for his retake. We wrote out every single conjugation, present and preterite, of all the verbs he needs to know for the test, and rewrote the paragraph according to the prompt at the end of the test. He seems to understand conjugations and pronouns much better than before."
"The session went very well and was a lot of fun. We worked on a review of her project. She had to find a recipe for a Spanish dish to cook for the Spanish class. Her recipe was chicken and spinach taquitos, with all of the ingredients and cooking directions in Spanish."
"We went over vocabulary. We did a rapid review and made phrases and did dialogue using the vocabulary words. We did vocabulary from Chapters 6-15. His homework is to put a star next to the words in Chapter 16-20 that he doesn't recognize right away."
"Today the student and I created a thesis to help guide his creation of the outline. Also we had to change the activist that is the focus of his paper to John Lennon. He needs to ask his teacher when the new due dates are since they have been moved back due to AP testing. He had another test in Spanish and said that he felt he understood more of the materiel that was on it. I left him with a chapter of "Alejandro" to read."
"The student did three homework assignments. We chose ten professions from her list and she described in Spanish how they performed their jobs. We then did a six-paragraph sentence on her parents' professions. Lastly, I supervised her re-listing of her futuro tense rules for the sake of motivation and focus."
"The student has a portion of his final tomorrow which will cover listening and writing sections. In preparation, we reviewed culture and vocabulary. We worked through several possible examples of the types of questions that he might be asked to answer in listening exercises. I helped him put together a plan of attack as to how to approach listening sections on exams."
