Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I checked the work that the student had to complete for me. He did well except for the word problem worksheet - he got 2 out of 6 incorrect and it was when you had to convert units. We will continue to work on this. We started on Pre-Algebra sections 1 and 2. These sections were review for the student. We were writing algebraic and numeric expressions as well as following the order of operations. The student did very well and just needs to get used to the different symbols and to show work."
"We covered a little bit of math during this session, but the main focus was on helping the student to prepare for her chemistry final. Special attention was paid to stoichiometry and showing valence shell electrons."
"Today the student and I did an overall review of what he has learnt in school this semester with most the time spent on factoring, as he seemed to have a little trouble with it. However, after the session I feel confident that he is ready to pass his final exam tomorrow. I will say that it was a good session, I also left him with some study skills."
"We covered functions and their graphs today. Using an older Algebra 1 workbook we were able to pinpoint some areas she felt she is lacking in to cover on our next sessions. I left her with both the worksheet, and the answer key that we worked on today."
"Tonight we worked through a good portion of the Algebra section of the student's practice book. She knows the vast majority of the material; we are reviewing and fine-tuning specific concepts that she has questions about or is unfamiliar with. Over our next couple of sessions we will continue working through the algebra and geometry sections to address any remaining areas of concern before the student takes her exam next week."
"The student and I went over probability and statistics. We went through the topics fairly quickly, and the student already has the hang of both topics. The questions in her homework were straightforward and we did not experience any problems with them. I expect the student to have completed one of the ACT diagnostic tests by our next session."
