Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we worked mostly on converting between parametric and rectangular coordinates. We also talked about the mirror equation and finding the image/ magnification for different types of mirrors - convex/ concave/ plane. The student did very well with the concepts here. He just had a little trouble converting polar/ parametric to rectangular at first, but I reminded him how to do it, and he did fine."
"The student had a test coming up. He had already nearly finished the review packet his teacher provided. After completing the last problem, we then worked through the chapter review from the textbook before doing additional problems on the ambiguous case as well as word problems."
"We covered logarithms and how to manipulate them, growth and decay models, and the unit circle and how to find reference angles and their x,y pairings. The student has a test this week so this was done as a review."
"Today, we worked on graphing and extrema. The student did not struggle with the material and had a positive attitude during our session. I included strategies to convey certain concepts. I look forward to our next session."
"The student's professor posted a practice midterm in preparation for the midterm on Friday. We worked our way through the midterm and discussed any confusing problems. The session went really well, and we have one more day of studying before the exam."
"We covered vector addition and subtraction, dot products, and reading word problems to create vector problems. We revisited some practice questions from previous sections to prepare for a test the following day, and the student seemed to solve vector problems quicker after the practice."
