Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"For this session we went over glyconegenisis and carbohydrate metabolism. I asked her to review the lecture notes and objective questions for glycogen production and glycogen breakdown. We talked about changing her study habits, where she reads through the notes herself before or after class in order to answer the objective questions the teacher givers her. Then when we have tutoring sessions, she can be prepared on the material we are going to cover in order to ask specific questions on the material."
"The student and I went over her study packet on Acids and Bases, Kinetics, and the Solubility Product. She has been struggling with a concussion and has trouble remembering some topics that she has previously studied in Chemistry. We focused on taking each problem step by step so that she could relearn the information."
"Today we went over two fairly large homework assignments the student was given over break. These assignments dealt with simple harmonic motion. He seems to understand SHM well and knows what equations are associated with each system but still sometimes struggles to apply them. We are working on getting a better understanding of what to do in each situation. Particularly we are looking at how to use conservation of energy in order to solve problems. We finished all of the short answer assignments and he was left with several multiple choice problems to practice by himself."
