Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a test on Friday, so we worked through the review given to her by her teacher. She is grasping the concepts of electricity and circuits very well."
"Worked on problems concerning physical pendulums, equations for simple harmonic motion, and applying Newton's Second Law to rotational motion."
"Covered a chapter on Heat Transfer (convection, conduction and radiation) and did the sample questions in the student's assessment Physics book. Starting reading through the next chapter on wave dynamics."
"Today we completed section 8 of the PH2 course, Nuclear interactions. We discussed some of the concepts and completed some of the half-life calculations for radioactive decay. We also completed some dynamics problems w/calculus."
"Today we talked about free body diagrams and discussed chapters in problem 4 concerning them. The student showed a good conceptual grasp about how to draw free body diagrams, and we also covered how drawing the free-body diagrams can lend themselves to equation making using Newton's general formula F=ma. Another element we went over was how to combine equations together when dealing with multiple unknowns."
"Today we worked on the student's physics homework. We went over her test -- she made some mistakes that neither of us could figure out what she was doing or why, but it seems like she understood my explanations. We started on her homework and she seems to be grasping that material as well. I'm worried she's parroting back information to me but not retaining it and won't be able to recreate it on the test, so I'm going to be more hands off than usual next session."
