Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over the student's chemistry homework. She needed a little help with naming molecules, but understood it better by the end of the session."
"Introduction of the periodic table, revision of composition of an atom, arrangement of different elements in the periodic table and the concept of electronic configuration."
"Taught VSEPR and Lewis diagrams, focusing on formal charge. Worked problems in preparation for tomorrow's quiz."
"At this session, she and I went over the material she missed in class on Friday, and we prepared for her quiz and test. We covered significant figures and unit conversions. We completed a worksheet over these topics where I gave her some tips on how to get through the more difficult questions."
"Concepts covered included acid-base titrations and questions involving the equivalence point. Balancing equations along with the relationships between moles, molarity, and volume of a solution were studied. The student was concerned about making sure the correct equations were being used in solving the titration and redox problems. The student's attitude towards the material was one of focus and determination to achieve the best score on her exam. The student was reminded to balance her equations to make sure her equations would produce the correct answer. Avoiding making simple errors was also an area of focus, especially when using the calculator. The student was asked to complete all of her practice problems in the worksheets and to send over her completed work for review. The student was competent and showed a clear aim to do well on her exam. She works hard by taking detailed notes and needs to be confident in herself because she knows how to use the material."
"Concepts covered: 1. Parts of the periodic table. 2. Ions and ionization energy. 3. Classification of elements. The student has a very good grasp of each concept. As long as he reviews the material, he should be fine."
