Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to go over limits, as well as continuity. We reviewed a few problem sets that the student had been assigned for homework and spent more time discussing the topics she found difficult."
"The student and I worked on parametric functions; we used the first and second derivatives to find various information about the parametric functions including end behavior and asymptotic behavior."
"We covered implicit differentiation, derivatives of logarithms, product rule, and chain rule. We also reviewed kinematics in 1-dimension (i.e. the 3 kinematic equations, vectors vs scalars, acceleration vs velocity vs position graphs)."
"We reviewed some exam practice problems. The problems covered a very wide range of calculus concepts. The student is very motivated and works hard towards mastering the subject. At this time, she needs to practice the basic pattern to solve the problems. She knows that she has to become more confident in using the chain, product, and quotient rules. We have two more sessions before the final, and we will have plenty of time to prepare ourselves."
"We continued review concepts for the student's upcoming exam at the end of the month. We began by going over conics - parabola, circle, ellipse, and hyperbola. After doing a few example problems I then gave a high overview of limits, derivatives and integrals. I only included the power rule. Next time we will review any questions on these topics and then go over probability and statistics."
"In preparation for his final exam, the student and I extensively covered the final topic since his last exam, parametrics. We looked at all of the questions from his assigned questions, and some general examples of parametric shapes and patterns to recognize. We are meeting again today for another session to go over his previous exams and review previous topics before the final."
