Video Game Creation (Grades 6-8)

What’s more fun than playing video games? Creating your own. And this summer, young gamers will become video game designers and coders with the Video Game Creation program featuring the Codeverse platform. Over the course of the summer, they’ll learn elements of game design and pick up the coding skills they need to turn those designs to reality, culminating in the creation of a game they can play with their friends and family.

This six-week class is one component of the Video Game Creation program. In this class, learners will meet weekly with an expert instructor and small group of fellow gamers to learn elements of game design and computer programming on the Codeverse platform. Additional components of the program include live members-only events with professional game designers, video lessons and guided coding missions, the option for private coding lessons, and a summer-long challenge to build a video game. Registrants will find more details on other program components via email and through their Learning Member account.
