Comic & Cartoon Creation (Grades 2-3)

Grades 2-3

What’s better than reading comics? Creating them, and this summer young artists will do just that. With guidance from professional artists, storytellers, and character designers, aspiring comic creators will learn how to create and draw compelling characters, how to imagine epic stories, and how to use art and storytelling techniques to bring their comic visions to life.

This six-week class is one component of the Comic & Cartoon Creation program. In this class, learners will meet weekly with an expert instructor and small group of peers to explore the elements of writing and drawing comics. Additional components of the program include live members-only events and recorded video lessons with artists and authors, self-guided comic challenges, the option for private lessons, and a summerlong comic creator challenge–where winners will have their comic book published and printed! Registrants will find more details via email and through their Learning Member account.
