About Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium
Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium consists of a 1.5-million-gallon Aquarium Adventure showcasing 35,000 live fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds, as well as immersive Wildlife Galleries that bring visitors eye-to-eye with the greatest collection of record-setting game animals ever assembled. Created by noted conservationist and Bass Pro Shops founder/CEO Johnny Morris, the 350,000 square-foot experience celebrates those who hunt, fish, and act as stewards of the land and water. Located next to Bass Pro Shops National Headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, the campus is a centerpiece of America’s Conservation Capital in Missouri’s Ozark Mountains. Wonders of Wildlife has been voted “Best New Attraction in America” and “America’s Best Aquarium” by the readers of USA TODAY. Johnny Morris’ personal passion for conservation has positioned Wonders of Wildlife with an opportunity like no other attraction to have a positive national impact on wildlife and conservation. By partnering with leading conservation organizations, Johnny Morris has established one of the most valuable and respected conservation and education centers in the world based in the heartland of America.
About the class
What has a hard shell and lives in salt water? Everyone’s favorite ocean current surfer — the sea turtle! In this live class, dive in with us as we discover the different species of sea turtles that live on our planet. You'll have the opportunity to meet some special individuals that call Wonders of Wildlife home, and your knowledge will be deepened as we learn about where they live and what makes them similar to — as well as uniquely different from — their land relatives. We’ll also discover the incredible things organizations are doing to help preserve and protect these wonderful creatures.
Meet your instructor, Alexander.
Alexander Konarski is a lead educator for Wonders of Wildlife. Through "My Edventure with Wonders of Wildlife," which started almost 4 years ago, Alexander gets the opportunity to work directly with animals he is passionate about, as well as to expand the minds of every guest that walks through the doors. All his life, Alexander has wanted to work in the animal field. That journey started before he was a teenager, volunteering at the local zoo in their ambassador program, which blossomed into a job opportunity. Alexander has worked/volunteered in the animal field for over 15 years.
