About the class
The Bald Eagle has been the national bird of the United States since 1782. Everyone has seen these majestic birds on money, monuments, and more–but have you ever seen one in the sky? Join South Carolina Aquarium and its ambassador Bald Eagle, Liberty, to get to know these iconic animals and their amazing characteristics, including the unique ways that they hunt and nest. You’ll learn about the Bald Eagle’s habits and habitat, its history as an American icon, and its resurgence from the brink of extinction–so you’ll be ready to salute when you see one of Liberty’s relatives fly overhead!
Meet your expert instructor, Selina
Selina Bohland is an Education Instructor at the South Carolina Aquarium assisting in school programs, outreaches, and virtual programming. Selina has been at the Aquarium for over a year and a half and previously worked as an educator and aquarist at a science center in South Florida.
