About Farm Sanctuary

Farm Sanctuary was founded in 1986 to combat the abuses of factory farming, advocate for institutional reforms, and encourage a new awareness and understanding of farm animals. Farm Sanctuary’s humane education program educates thousands of students each year through classroom presentations, inspires student action through the organization’s Youth Leadership Council, and empowers teachers with standards-aligning curriculum on farm animals and issues in our food system.

About the class

Farm Sanctuary’s humane educator introduces students to Ash the sheep who lives at Farm Sanctuary. Students learn about Ash’s rescue story and his new life at Farm Sanctuary’s New York shelter where he lives in a large herd alongside his mom, Connie. Students conclude the class by creating a drawing of Ash. Download and follow along with an interactive worksheet and answer key.
