Adventures in Puppetry

The Center for Puppetry Arts

About

About the class

The Center for Puppetry Arts is a unique cultural treasure—a magical place where children and adults are educated, enlightened and entertained. Since Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog helped cut the ribbon at its grand opening in 1978, the Center has introduced millions of visitors to the wonder and art of puppetry and has touched the lives of many through enchanting performances, curriculum-based workshops, and the hands-on Museum, as well as Digital Learning and Outreach Programs.

Celebrate and explore the world of puppetry with the Center for Puppetry Arts! In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn all about different puppetry styles and create an exciting hare-shaped puppet of your own! You’ll even have the chance to watch a short puppet show ("The Tortoise and the Hare") from the comfort of your home. Come see all the ways puppetry can enhance your life and your learning.

Students will need several items to make their puppet. You can find the list here: https://puppet.org/resource/varsity-tutors_happy-hare/
