About Butterfly Pavilion

Butterfly Pavilion is the first stand-alone, Association of Zoos and Aquariums-accredited, non-profit invertebrate zoo in the world and a leader in invertebrate knowledge, inspiration, and connection. Whether it is providing unique, hands-on learning experiences through its exhibits and educational programs, conducting new research that sets the standard for zoos across the country, or building innovative solutions for species and habitat conservation in countries around the world, Butterfly Pavilion is leading the way in ensuring invertebrates are protected for the future.

About the class

Spring is here — and so are some beautiful pollinators! In this live and interactive class, we'll explore the diverse and incredible world of butterflies, from the migratory monarchs to the high-altitude hairstreak! We'll also learn about ways that we can all participate in citizen science and monitor the butterflies where we live to answer the question, "What butterflies are in my backyard?"

Meet your instructor, Calais.
