Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We finished of the Sententiae Antiquae and read the two short passages of Martial. After we reviewed a few more concepts, we jumped into Cicero's Brutus, where we completed the first paragraph. The student seems to be doing outstandingly well, and is gaining a solid understanding of the material."
"We went over participles and uses of cases. We also touched on some of the concepts he will be exploring this next week. I left him with charts to explore as well as a practice NLE test in order to gauge where he is in his Latin proficiency. He is a great student he just needs a couple of things explained further because his class structure is leaving him wanting more."
"Today, the student and I reviewed concepts for the National Latin Exam, using a previous year's test as a basis for the review. She seems to have a solid grasp on much of the material. The main area that she needs to focus on is pronouns. We went through the forms of pronouns, and we also went through their different uses. We heavily reviewed the syntax of relative pronouns, as well as the difference between reflexive and intensifying pronouns. We also spent some time on demonstratives, and identified relevant patterns and mnemonics for remembering meaning. I am sending her some website links and study guides for further review."
