Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the general basics of the test, and outlined a comprehensive study plan moving forward. The student's attitude was very positive. She is going to take a practice test, which we will review on Monday. I think she is very promising as a student."
"We worked together through the dense triangle chapter in the prep text. I did assign several problems from this chapter. We worked through the first 12 of the rectangles as well. We reviewed several exponent/root problems that she had questions about. I also assigned a general amount (at her discretion, depending on her schedule) from the reading comprehension and sentence equivalence chapters."
"We spent about half of the session going over approaches to some of the quantitative questions the student had from her homework, including working with changing averages. For the other half, we discussed analytical writing approaches and applied some of those techniques in making outlines from ETS prompts. For homework, she'll be doing another quantitative section and writing a practice Analyze an Argument essay, as well as continuing to practice vocabulary."
"We reviewed assumption and justify problems in detail, discussing diagramming techniques and general strategy. We also briefly touched on resolve the paradox questions and formal logic. The student is improving very well in his comprehension of logical reasoning concepts and question-specific quirks. Homework is to complete chapters 12-13 of the Logical Reasoning prep book, on resolve the paradox and formal logic, respectively."
"We reviewed different question types for the logical reasoning section and strategies for approaching each of those questions. The student has a solid foundation and should work to continue practicing evaluating arguments on the LR section. Next time, we'll review assumption family questions, which make up the bulk of LR questions."
"We reviewed Logical Reasoning and Logic Games. The student was struggling with timing, but kept a positive attitude. We will continue to work on this next session. If a logic game seems more difficult than usual, reread the rules and question to ensure that nothing was misread. The student should do a practice test for Tuesday's session. The student is getting more logic games and logical reasoning questions correct than before."
