Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule, then applied them to combinations of polynomials, exponentials, and trig functions."
"In today's session, the student and I reviewed her calculus work. We specifically focused on how to estimate derivatives."
"We went over a lot of different things today, but decided to focus mainly on work. We also briefly went over limits and derivative/antiderivative. Today was our last session before the student's final. I am confident that she'll do well."
"We continued on the student's review packet today, moving on to Taylor Series Convergence, which she had not gone over in class yet. That meant that I got to work with her on it for the first time, and she did very well. After going over the graphical representation of series, we talked about two convergence tests (ratio and p) and how to use them. We will continue this work next week, but she seems to have a pretty decent grasp on the material for a first day student of convergence."
"The student was working on applications of derivatives, including related rates problems and finding extrema. We talked about the importance of writing the physical equation, finding the derivative equation with dv/dt where v is any variable, and using algebraic methods to solve for the unknowns."
"The student completed the Mean Value Theorem problems to 100% accuracy. We also reviewed some questions regarding First and Second Derivative tests. The student has a test on Friday, and he will need to complete his review packet for our session on Thursday."
