Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for her exam on Friday, which will consist of linear equations. We completed online homework/extra credit and practice problems from her notes. She is doing a much better job of completing her homework before our sessions!"
"The student and I went through a lot today. We went through basic conversation, pronunciation, numbers, days of the week, months, and pronouns. We practiced these things a few times and added more information as we went through the lesson. The student is going to review what we went over today. Next session, we are going to review what we went over today, and we will have more mini conversations and go over colors and basic verbs."
"We reviewed logic games and logic reasoning. We worked on formal logic and speed. The student is positive! He is nervous about the exam tomorrow, but he is optimistic! He is getting better in all areas."
"Today I introduced positive and negative integers. We discussed what they are and how they are used. The student noticed that we use positive and negative integers when referring to temperature. We also began discussing the relationship between positive and negative integers of opposite value."
"We continued reviewing the student's engineering homework. We reviewed vocabulary and topics from last session as well. I encouraged him to take more of the lead with reading and deciphering the directions. He did a great job with problem solving when directions from the text were unclear."
"We worked on all three sections; the student is showing improvement on reading in particular, as we have been working on breaking the passage down into each paragraph's main idea and the author's attitude towards the passage. Logical reasoning has improved somewhat, although we need to work on assumption and inference questions more. She is getting much better at finding the correct strategy in logic games. Next time, we will go over homework I assigned and try to look at all three sections again."
