"Factoring expansion and simplification. Reviewed some aspects of factoring. Worked on word problem to equation translation."
"The student completed 2 out of 3 subtraction problems correctly. He regroups correctly, but sometimes makes an error in subtraction. He did 3 2-digit multiplication problems correctly and seems to understand the algorithm. He appears to like using the color coded system I introduced him to. We practiced finding equal decimals i.e.. .3 = .30. He also compared decimals correctly and accurately. I showed him a visual model for problem solving and he practiced using the model with high level addition word problems."
"Assisted the student with a recipe project book applying multiplication of fractions with individual ingredients and serving sizes."
"Covered the unit circle, radians, degrees, and cosine and sine. I explained how we can use triangles and the unit circle to get a functional form of sine and cosine and how we can compute the cosine or sine or any angle in degrees or radians. I also explained why this is important (which is a very simple intro to the Fourier series). She was challenged a lot at the beginning but once I explained the concepts I think she began to gain traction."
"Today we went over trigonometric functions as it applies to the theory of biorhythms. We also looked at how to graph trigonometric functions."
"We reviewed for the test on trig functions and the unit circle. We covered all six trig functions as they relate to a right triangle. We found the value of various trig functions of given angles (both in degrees and radians). We worked through a word problem involving trig and geometry."
