Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had just had a test on chapter 8 today and she felt that she did okay on it. Today we started on 9.1 Translations. She caught on really fast and I asked her to complete some problems from her book that we will go over tomorrow."
"We did the intermediate geometry review, which covered some volume problems as well as some shape/angle problems that incorporated algebra. We also worked through breaking down problems (like surface area) so that you don't need the "formula". We also worked through one of the problems as a proof, from scratch (without pre-written statements or reasons)."
"The student said that she has a test tomorrow on angles of elevation and depression and laws of sines and cosines. We reviewed these using her notes from school. We also worked a few elevation/depression word problems from my sources. She did well with all of these in the session."
"The session was a test prep session for the student as he had a test coming up in geometry class. We worked on his review packet over sine, cosine, tangent, and other trig functions. He really felt comfortable with the material and was able to work most of the questions with minimal help needed. The session went very well and he is building up confidence in his math skills for the class."
"We did review on Chapter 4 that includes angles formed by parallel lines and transversal lines - corresponding angles, alt interior and exterior angles, same side interior angles, vertical angles and adjacent angles. The student still needs to practice his algebra and math skills."
"Today we continued to work on concepts and proof involving the relationship between intersecting lines. The student did very well on the quizzes in her workbook and mentioned that she got a 100 on her last test! The student is getting better with proofs and constructions and is becoming more familiar with the structure and wording of the theorems and postulates."
