Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed the student's latest test and did practice for a test retake. We also worked on learning adjective endings by reviewing book practice examples."
"We went over vocabulary, speaking, and listening comprehension. We also did a reading exercise and answered questions while working on pronunciation."
"Today, we began by talking about the present tense of verbs and their endings. Then we covered the verbs in the preterite and the perfect including sein vs. haben verbs and the differences. We talked then about the future. The student was able to grasp the present forms well but struggled with the stem changes in the past and the perfect. We then discussed the simple future tense and the order of a sentence with the form of werden at the beginning after the subject, the indirect object time, manner and place and finally the infinitive form at the end. This seemed to be pretty simple for him. Finally, we covered the reflexive verbs and how to use and change the reflexive pronoun. We finished by covering the pronouns for accusative and dative as well as the ein versus der words. I covered some of the tricks to remembering these as well. The most important thing is that the student study the stem changes and endings of the irregular verbs in past and perfect as well as rehearse all of the regular forms of these."
