Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued working on the student's Pre-K sight words focusing specifically on the words he was having difficulty pronouncing and spelling. He was having difficulty differentiating between the letters "d" and "b". In addition, we focused on seeing, saying, writing, and reading. He was positive about the information we were reviewing and even stated that his teacher said she saw him "doing better in class." I continued to enforce the strategies and study skills from the first tutoring session and provided him with extra practice materials to use when I am not present. I left practice materials for him to continue building upon the information we are currently covering and explained to his mother ways that she can cover the information."
"The student and I worked on spelling, reading, and math this session. We began by going through her spelling words, and we gradually worked to spelling the words without use of her reference sheet. After spelling, we worked on reading before working on math games on her iPad. The math game we spent the most time on tasked her with finding numbers to make 10. The more numbers she used, the higher the score, i.e. 1+4+5 instead of 5+5. She responds well to using games to work on math."
"During the first half an hour, she read a book and two short stories. During the next half an hour, she worked on two sections of lessons from her enrichment workbook. She tried her best the entire time. As a reward for a fantastic effort, I read a short story to her at the end of our time together."
