"The student & I reviewed a lesson regarding the properties of polyhedrons including how to calculate the surface area of a variety of solid shapes. We also completed a set of problems related to factoring and multiplication regarding quadratic equations. She is still progressing in organization and showing more work/reasoning for her answers, and also in critical thinking skills required to work more independently."
"I assisted the student with his geometry homework, which consisted of trigonometric ratios and inverse trigonometric functions. He did a very good job during today's session; he was truly firing on all cylinders. After he finished his review he asked me if I could make up "challenge problems" for him, which I did. He was able to solve two challenge problems before the session was over. He is very confident that he will do well on the test."
"We talked about the concepts of sine, cosine, and tangent. We did various examples from the textbook, and were able to successfully solve all attempted word problems. The student clearly knew the materials."
"Today's tutoring session went well. We reviewed important concepts in geometry. We also went through many problems that incorporated these concepts and she showed increasing skills in geometry problem solving. I encouraged repetition in going over the concepts and reworking the problems for her upcoming test."
"The student is improving on her geometry skills. The constant repetition and practice are keeping her on top of her material. Today, we went over more triangles and postulates associated with these triangles. We worked together on finding the missing angles of triangles and tried to discover if triangles were congruent through CPTP. We touched a little on circles, but focused mainly on triangles because she has a test on Friday on triangles. I will be giving her practice problems to do tomorrow to review and we will go over the problems together."
"I worked with the student on manipulating equations and analyzing quadratic functions. Understanding the structure of a quadratic equation, finding the vertex, x & y intercepts etc. She has a weak foundation in algebra and I suggested that she spend more time reviewing the material from earlier sections given the concepts build on each other as the course continues."
