The student and I started covering topics in more depth because we finished with all homework assignments during our last session. She has a final review sheet that we worked through, covering all sort of statistical distributions (binomial, Z, T, X2, etc.). In addition we went over more conceptual ideas like quantitative/qualitative. She is doing well and will probably just need one more session before her final.

Today was our first session. We went over probability distributions, calculating mean, variance, and standard deviation, as well as setting up a probability distribution from a frequency distribution and making a histogram and we began looking at binomial probability. Student is very easy and enjoyable to work with, and a quick learner.

The student was able to finish the remaining quizzes for his course. We specifically covered hypothesis testing and calculating z and t scores to determine significance. He is very comfortable finding the appropriate values to calculate both z and t scores and is able to distinguish when it is necessary to use one over the other. While he continues to have occasional difficulty concerning the population mean and sample mean he overall had no difficulties. We had hoped to go back and improve his grades on some earlier practice quizzes but they had already closed.
