Tutoring review by Kathryn in Cartersville, GA
Today's homework focused on the U word family, writing the alphabet in order, and writing the numbers from 1-120. The vocabulary words for U were new words to the student and were more difficult than usual, but she did a great job of identifying the words. She had no problem writing the alphabet in order, with both capital and lowercase letters. She did have some trouble writing the numbers 1-120, as she has a tendency to put the number in the ones place first, instead of the tens place. This will resolve itself with further practice. We also practiced her spelling words, which she was able to do on her own. The stories are becoming longer everyday, but she is doing a great job of keeping up.

Tutoring review by Amy in Cartersville, GA
During this session we reviewed the test the student recently took and completed her test corrections. She seems to understand all of the concepts required to complete each question, but struggles when problems are presented in a new way. Her mother and I have decided that, moving forward, I will create practice tests (with a similar format to her teacher's) so that the student can better assess her understanding of the material before the actual test. I think she will benefit greatly from this additional practice. I am hoping to send her the first practice test during the next week.
