Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for history. We worked on ways to memorize the material from his notes and study guide. He's on the right track and I think he will do well."
"We reviewed Episode 4 questions on "America: The Story of Us". Then we went over Episode 5 concepts. We looked through the student's math homework and worked on proportions, probability and circumference."
"Similar to first session, we worked through early American history, contextualized the work, and reviewed various facts. Solid work."
"Today, the tutor helped the student review some vocabulary terms for his upcoming quiz. The tutor then gave him a full lesson on the imperfect, helping him understand when to use the imperfect as opposed to the preterite tense. He has a good sense for this topic, and was eager to learn the construction of the imperfect. The tutor introduced him to the imperfect form of regular AR verbs."
"The student is really getting great at both of these tests. On the ACT she took for today, she scored a 35 on the math section and a 33 on the science section. We were able to get through another science section and she scored a 33 on that as well. I gave her another test for next time. Next time, we will continue to practice, and we will do a final review of strategies and some final practicing."
"Today the student and I spent one hour reviewing math and rest of the time going over a practice science section. We dissected four science passages, and the student answered most of the associated questions correctly. He sometimes struggles to make sense of convoluted scientific explanations in certain passages, especially ones about chemistry, but he will hone this skill with more practice. For homework, he is completing a full-length timed practice test."
