Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on all three of the writing questions which will appear on the Language test. First, we discussed his essay, Synthesis. Then, most of the session was spent discussing Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "Letter From the Birmingham Jail." Lastly, we talked a little about the rhetorical question. Another excellent session."
"We worked on outlining an essay from a practice AP Exam. We discussed two essays written in class. The student said he would work on fully writing the essay we outlined, which we would discuss next time we meet."
"The student and I discussed some figurative language terms and he worked on a practice free response essay."
"The first student and I studied the Roman government, and natural selection. The second student and I studied the Bill of Rights, and prepared for a spelling bee."
"The girls are doing well with their reading. The first student started a new book, "Upstairs Mouse, Downstairs Mole." Next time we do reading I will start with her. The second student is reading "Judy Moody Gets Famous." She does a wonderful job of reading her book with expression and intonation. I love listening to her read! Keep up the good work!"
"The older student read a Clifford book aloud, and was able to read the book primarily on her own, with just a few reminders from me. She mainly needed nudges toward self-correcting, and was able to do so with very little help. She then finished her spelling homework. With her younger brother, I helped him work on some math review in preparation for an upcoming math tests that he has. We then worked on his new sight words for this week."
