Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session was driven by the assessment test that the student prepped. She has made quite a bit of progress, and we both have good reason to hope that test day will be one of relief and joy in the final analysis."
"We discussed the student's goals for the GRE and what he wanted to get out of tutoring sessions. I went over the structure and outline of the GRE, as well as the types of questions that appear in math and verbal sections. We also went over how to stay focused on the exam, what GRE books were useful, and how scoring worked for the GRE. We then worked on geometry problems, and I reviewed material such as circles, circumference and area formulas, area of a sector, length of an arc, equilateral, isosceles, and right triangles, and the angles of a triangle."
"We talked a little bit about the format of the test and spent the session reviewing the majority of the math concepts, formulas, and rules for the exam; these included basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry rules that appear in the quantitative section. For extra practice, she will familiarize herself with some recommended online vocabulary resources and complete a practice test for the math we worked on today. Next session, we'll turn our focus to the writing and verbal portions of the exam."
