"Today, the student and I covered the definition of history, social sciences, and culture. Also, we covered the geography and humans of both China and Japan getting into the topics of: Confucianism, Daoism, Legalism, Shintoism, and Zen Buddhism. We also discussed certain themes like Nativism, and Chinese influence on Japan and Korea."
"We worked on finishing up his research paper and making sure it looked good. I instructed him to read over the paper and clean it up however he needed. On Saturday I read over his final draft and messaged his mother back with what I felt he needed to do before turning in his paper, which was merely proofread to correct any spelling and grammar."
"The student received an 81 on his DBQ, which was 20 points above the class average. Today we completed his Unit 3 Study Guide and he completed the homework for tonight."
"We completed the rest of the student's study guide and then spent the rest of the time reviewing it. He would answer questions that I would give him from the guide as practice. After we completed this review, we discussed and reviewed his vocabulary words. We focused on definitions first and then worked on the words in fill-in-the-blank sentences."
"It was great hearing about the student's score on his last test. He is doing great work! We went over his persuasive speech and worked on his organization and argument. Then we started working on the textbook material. We were able to advance through three sections in the chapter on the Industrial Revolution."
"We started on this week's readings concerning Jewish-Christian relations in the Middle Ages, focusing on the iconic metaphors of Ecclesia and Synagoga, feminine personifications of Christianity and Judaism that decorated Christian cathedrals of the era. We contrasted the Christian view of the submissive place of Judaism in the medieval Christian world with the actual prosperous, independent, and intellectual Jewish communities at the time."
