Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, we went over the entire chapter on areas of quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, and sectors, because the student had an upcoming test. First, we reviewed her homework and after that, did as many practice problems as we could. She understood most of the material and seemed to be prepared for the test. She did her best to solve each problem. At the end of the session, I assigned a few practice problems to ensure she understands how to solve different problems she might encounter on the test."
"During our session today, we went over the sections she missed in class during her time away. We went over circles and volume and surface area of different 3D shapes. We went over some problems and used one of my old geometry books that outlines the rules necessary to understand geometry. I asked her to write on a notecard or sheet of paper all the necessary equations relating to the subject we worked on today. This will give her extra practice and help her learn the equations. Also it will put all the necessary equations on one sheet so she does not have to look for the equations on different pages. I really enjoyed teaching her; she is a fast learner. She is a really excellent student."
"Today we covered finding the area of regular polygons. The student didn't struggle at all today and had a positive attitude towards the material. I showed her all the formulas for finding certain areas, for example, a nonagon. The teacher provided her with extra practice problems. She had a good grade on last week's exam which is definitely a win."
"The homework he had for today was a lot of review. We went over congruent triangles, properties of quadrilaterals, determining area of a rhombus, determining the equation of a line using a graph and a table, volume and density, and probability. He will email me about when to meet for next week."
"I met with the student on Sunday to complete his homework assignment and to get into chapter 12. We were able to complete 2 homework lessons. He did well with the subject but should be careful with the formulas and calculator work."
"We went over some physical science homework first and then moved on to geometry. In geometry we focused on the upcoming project that he has as well as doing a practice quiz. The student seemed to understand all of the concepts of geometry that were on the practice quiz as well as quickly picking up the calculations of molar mass. He has the rest of his project to work on for next week."
