Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I spent almost the entire session reviewing his previous math test. He has a chance today to retake it, but he needed to fix everything he got wrong on the first try. Most of the problems had to do with not paying attention to minutia like signs and when to plug in for x vs. y. We finished by working on test questions he was writing for Spanish."
"Today, we studied time and how to say the time on the hour, half-hour, quarter-past, and quarter-til. We practiced this and then went over some questions that I will be asking her at the beginning of class."
"We continued to go over irregular preterite verbs like -ucir ending verbs. We spent several minutes practicing Spanish conversation. We covered differences between por and para. We went over assigned problems and did corrections. We also covered direct and indirect object pronouns."
"The student did really well in this session as he mainly did some homework he had for Spanish and also he wanted to review some lessons that he was confused about. He had a lot a questions which I was able to answer."
"Today the students reviewed vocabulary words and phrases, read two dialogues to practice Spanish conversation, listened to two audio conversations, underlined the stem and placed a triangle on the infinitives, defined verbs in Spanish, and conjugated regular verbs using the present tense. The lesson went very well and the students are understanding more concepts of Spanish."
"The student told me that the test went well. We moved on to Pliny 6.16 which is the most difficult passage to date. This passage had many odd grammatical constructions, and difficult sentences. We went over the idiom "non modo" which means not only. After the session we noted that this was a passage we would need to go over multiple times before it was clear."
