Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today was our last session! We went over a number of specific and difficult question areas that the student had, including probability of 'at least' questions relating to independent probabilities and a few specific oxidation reactions in relation to strong oxidizers of aldehydes (Tollens). After working on those topics, we looked through a DAT Practice Test. Focusing on GChem, OChem, and QR, she answered the vast majority of some very difficult questions correctly."
"We went over Chapters 10 and 11, which had to do with rates of reaction such as K equilibrium. Chapter 10 involved chemical equilibrium topics as we did many sample problems and went over key ideas. Chapter 11 covered that of acids and bases, and I gave her problems to go over to finish off the chapter. She will also read Chapter 12 for homework. She is understanding the homework and doing very well."
"We went over some math and chemistry problems that the student had done prior to our meeting and had gotten wrong. Then, we did additional chemistry practice problems together from her prep book. She is definitely improving and remembering the tactics that we went over in previous sessions. Since her test is coming up soon, she is a little worried about how to best spend her last few days of studying. I am going to send her some more videos on areas she is struggling with across the sections of the test, since these seemed to help her with previous concepts. But, at this point, she will mostly stick to practice problems to prepare for the test."
"We went over some of the biology concepts such as anatomy and physiology, development, the digestive and endocrine systems, and the circulatory system. We also reviewed the keyhole and hole punching questions. For the keyhole questions, we reviewed strategies to solve the questions and how to identify the incorrect answers."
