Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We started with the student's math homework. He had a worksheet on multiplying fractions. We reviewed cross canceling too. Then we did some long division word problems and ended with multiplication fact fluency."
"The student and I had a great second meeting. It was very encouraging to hear that he did so well on his chapter test that we had studied for in our last session. During our current session we reviewed for the final exam which he has tomorrow. We really focused on some concepts that were confusing at times such as cubed roots and imaginary numbers. We worked also on domain and range along with graphing. To help with the content we broke it down into smaller pieces and really dissected the concepts and broke them down to elementary ideas and pieced them back together to make them more understandable. He appeared a lot more confident about the final after I left compared to when I arrived, and I have all the faith in the world that he will preform well on the final."
"We covered clock skills on the hour and half hour. We also began minutes. The student enjoys working with the clock. We reviewed addition and subtraction facts with a dice game. The student continues to improve her fluency."
"We worked on his homework assignments 12-B ("problem solving with tangent lines") and 12-C (book: 12-3, "inscribed angles"). His final exam will be on May 28th and May 29th. He will have a short quiz covering the remaining material including probability."
"The student worked on completing his online work, that covered rate of change, involving equations as well as graphs. Although there were some concepts to iron out, by the end of the session he had a very good understanding of how do you approach these problems."
"The student and I reviewed for her upcoming math test. We covered clocks, fractions, even and odd numbers and adding multiple two digit numbers together. We also finished reviewing the packet on pictograms which we started last time. She is getting better at adding and subtracting time from a clock. I also reminded her of the rules for adding even and odd numbers so that she could memorize this for her test. I think she is doing well with all of these topics."
