Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I completed exercises choosing whether to use 'ser' or 'estar' . We reviewed and discussed thinking strategies to help her decide which will work when reading in context. She seemed to be much more confident than before the sessions began."
" I instructed the student to finish his vocabulary during the session while I prepared some practice questions pertaining to food and telling time. He answered them quite well, so with vocabulary review I'm fairly optimistic about his opportunity to do well on the exam. Also, he'll be going back to school this week and will receive a final exam study guide on Wednesday, so by our next session we should have something more concrete to work with from his teacher."
"We practiced more regular verbs -ar and -er. The student learned the conjugation forms for -ir verbs. He conjugated the verbs and translated sentences from English to Spanish."
"This was an introductory session in which I went over the alphabet, nouns, verbs, adjectives, and numbers. The student picked up the concepts fairly well, but it is too early to determine which areas need the most attention. I left her with a small worksheet to practice with before our next session. Overall everything went very well."
"Helped the student with a few exercises assigned from a workbook dealing with the imperative mode. Learned the irregular command verbs. Wrote a script for an upcoming speaking test she has utilizing imperative verbs combined with direct object pronouns."
"We worked on the student's homework packet. He will have a test in the upcoming month, and we reviewed his vocabulary. I also taught him about direct object pronouns and the commands. The student will continue to study his vocabulary over spring break and complete his packet."
