Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over erosion, weathering, and how it relates to sedimentary rock. The student is working on erosion in class, so I wanted to focus on it this session. He paid attention and did well with the quizzes. He said they were working on equations in class. I used an online one-step and two-step equations flash games to help him understand the balance that is required with equations. Using the flash game really helped him. When we did equations without the flash games he was able to do them a lot faster. So definitely a win there."
"We work on a homework assignment that consisted of simple addition, writing numbers in order from least to greatest, and writing numbers in order from greatest to least. The student said that she is doing well in class."
"We worked on addition problems as well as reading. He needs some assistance in staying focused and being patient. He does respond well to encouragement, and competition to see who can finished first."
"We worked on Array, Area, Equal Group, Combination, and Comparison. The student will work problems. State situation and solve using equations. Reviewed problems completed, and then completed remainder of work together. Discussed and practiced visualization spelling word strategies."
"We worked on basic algebra. We talked about order of operations and PEMDAS. We wrote equations to solve for x and used the equations to solve for x when we were given the value of x. We went over the difference between squaring a number and cubing a number vs. multiplying by 2 or 3."
"We worked on comparing decimals, and then we worked on a packet of Grade 4 level skills (multiplication, long division, rounding to the hundreds, and place value) to address deficits in math foundational skills."
