Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we worked through a review of problems on a homework set covering normal distributions, sample vs. population variance, and binomial distributions. We got through half of the homework assignment in this session and will go through the second half tomorrow afternoon."
"Today, we worked through problems dealing with two population proportions and finding their confidence intervals. We then moved onto chi-square distributions and the two types of tests you can use to solve problems -- the goodness-of-fit test and the independence test using contingency tables. We finally moved on to regression equations and will continue with an example we were working on during our session on Friday."
"Today, we worked with confidence intervals for proportions and means. Tomorrow, we will review a practice exam."
"We covered a lot of the older math concepts before Statistics. The session primarily detailed Math review from previous classes. I made up a lot of good examples on the spot. I gave the student a workbook to help her more with the course. I can see her making improvements pretty quickly, as she is grasping concepts rapidly and loves understanding the subject matter."
"We covered a portion of chapter 3 in her book, and we practiced with examples and problems in the book. We are meeting again on Monday to finish chapter 3, and to get to the student prepared for the quiz of chapter 1 and 2."
"We covered calculating standard deviation/variance and finding/applying z scores. The student has a test tonight and I left him with several online calculators relevant to some of the material he is being tested on."
