Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on reviewing the concept of solving logarithmic expressions. She needed some reinforcement on the rules to apply for given logarithmic expressions, and eventually became more comfortable with similar questions on this concept."
"The student was having difficulty with log and ln problems. She had new worksheets on these functions and was having trouble getting started. We went over that the sum or difference of logs was equal to the log of the product, of the log variables, or the log of the quotient. We also reviewed that the same is true for ln-expressions. She then went ahead and worked through several problems. Then, she tackled several log base b problems and worked through different bases. By the end of the session, she was going to finish the worksheets at home, now that she better understood how to approach them."
"The student was working on inverse functions of trigonometric functions. We were able to have some dialogue. The student was motivated to complete the problems. He has additional problems to complete. He received a 94% on his quarterly exam."
"The student went through a math worksheet due tomorrow, as well as a homework sheet due the following day. From there we went over meiosis for an upcoming quiz and outlined notes to be used for a project on the same material. We then went through and corrected homework notes on balancing equations and equation types for an upcoming quiz in chemistry."
"The student worked ahead on problems regarding inverse trigonometric functions. Aspects of domain and range of these inverse functions need to be clarified by the teacher. Generally, the domain of a function is the values taken on by the independent variable, and the range of a function is the values taken by the dependent variable."
"The student worked on his assignment regarding radians vs. degrees, and rotational motion. I followed along with him while he did the work. He needed very little direction from me, and completed the assignment relatively quickly."
