Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student completed the assignments for one week of work in his online Geometry course. We worked on skills with kites and trapezoids. He understood the material well, and he applied his skills with algebra to solve equations in these sections of his Geometry curriculum."
"The student did a general review of two chapters to prepare for his upcoming final exam. We covered lines and parabolas in depth, and we solved several practice problems from his textbook. He has been doing incredibly well this semester, and his dedication shows in his overall understanding."
"The student did both sides of his trigonometry homework worksheet. He understood everything very well, and was able to set up all the problems on his own. He just needs to remember to pay attention to the angles of depression. We will continue to work on that."
"The student did not do as well he had hoped for on a congruence test, so we changed our approach. The new approach is to read ahead before going to class. Then, after class, he is to read until (however many times it takes) he understands the material."
"The student did not do very well on his latest quiz. I began the lesson by going over every problem on the quiz and making sure he now knows how to answer every problem correctly. We then proceeded to look over his homework, which required him to solve problems based on finding the values of the sides and angles of right triangles. I also provided notes and additional help on simplifying rational equations and square roots."
"The student did not do well on her last test, but almost every mistake she made was from rushing rather than from concept failure. She added when she needed to subtract, for example. Today, she was making similar errors when going through the homework, but I slowed her down and made her work more methodically. We will continue to work on this next session."
