How can your Algebra tutor help you?

Varsity Tutors may assist you in finding an independent, professional algebra tutor for your student in Cincinnati, OH. The End-of-Course tests and Ohio state tests require that students are proficient in algebra, in order to pass and move on to the next level. A private tutor may try to help your child with graphing systems of equations, multiplying and dividing monomials, quadratic equations, and other topics that challenge many algebra students. The course may also involve the Pythagorean theorem, graphing linear inequalities, and other concepts. From these to creating an expression, to performing algebraic manipulations, the instructor may focus exactly on what your child needs to practice.

In contrast to a full class, a tutoring session may be customized to your child's needs. The scope may be broad, or the topics they are familiar with may be brushed on with a heavier focus on more challenging concepts. For example, if the student has understood graphing slopes, the tutor may focus on scientific notation or negative and zero exponents. Graphing using a table of values takes practice, but a tutor has no problem spending valuable time helping your student understand it.

I gave him three more problems to work on, between now and our next session.

Cincinnati, OH Algebra tutoring
We went over her class work for the day, which covered writing the equation of a line in slope-intercept form if given a point and a slope or two points. Then we looked ahead at the next section she'll be covering in school, focusing of writing the equation of a line in point-slope form. Then we reviewed graphing lines in slope-intercept form. She did very well, she had a clear handle on the concepts and the procedures and she stayed focused and motivated.

The student and I completed her 9.5 homework - factoring trinomials. She also took a test earlier this week. She doesn't look for a greatest common factor before she starts factoring when given an equation, but she zoomed through the rest of the test when we reviewed her incorrect answers.
