Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Continued working on the graded project for the "HTML Coding" section of the student's homeschool curriculum."
"We decided to focus on some programming today, using the graphics library with which the student is familiar. All went well as we reviewed the API, which required me to do some quick coding to help the student understand rotating the points of a polygon around the origin. He understood the concepts by the end of the session."
"The student and I continued work on her program from last time! Last time, we ran out of time before debugging/testing the program, so we didn't know if the stuff we'd written worked. Turns out it didn't, not completely. So we troubleshot and properly finished that part of the program, and then started on the next and final part! We talked mostly abstract strategy stuff, then implemented a starter function that we will call a recursive helper. From now until Sunday, she will work on that recursive helper, which will likely be pretty tricky, and then we'll wrap it up on Sunday hopefully!"
"Today we finished assignment 5, specifically covering multi-dimensional arrays and sorting. We reviewed several online sources and tried a couple ways of doing the same things. Next, topics will start to get very complex as we likely cover pointers and reference values."
"Today, the student and I worked on class definition, instance methods and variables, class constructors, memory concepts, declaration, allocation, and definition. She was attentive and active throughout the session."
"We covered concepts like C++ functions and arrays. The student's attitude toward the material that was reviewed was quite good."
