Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered equilibrium problems including the use of ICE tables, the Law of Mass Action, Le Chatelier's Principle and how to apply it, and then we went over many examples of various problems as examples of the strategy to solve the problems. Her professor had provided some worksheets so we did those, and then worked on a test I use in my AP Chemistry class. She has a copy of the rest of the test with answers so she can do additional practice questions for reinforcement. Her final is Friday, so we are having another session Thurs., with Thermodynamics as the last topic to review."
"Tonight the student and I discussed the respiratory system, as well as her past test on the circulatory/cardiovascular system. With a quick review (she did very well) we moved on to discussing a project that she is working on in class connecting the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems. We reviewed each of these systems (anatomy and physiology) and how they are connected, as well as working out when her school year ends and what her final will cover. She has made massive improvements since we first started working together, and is a joy to meet with every week."
"We covered the effects of various mutations that affected hemoglobin's affinity for oxygen. The questions were very in depth and required additional time to research. We utilized various graphical methods to answer the questions. She is a very bright and motivated student. She was a pleasure to work with."
"Covered Algebra 2 radical and trigonometric ratios. Student was not looking for help in chemistry since they just started a new topic."
"We discussed symbiosis, and specifically the difference between mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism, in comparison to predator and prey, as well as what makes a detrivore and a saphrophyte. We also discussed ecological niches."
"Student presented their PowerPoint that was discussed in the previous session. Afterwards, we went over each slide and made suggestions for improvement. Student asked questions for further clarification on some slide material. Student left the session feeling better prepared for their class presentation that is to take place the following day."
