"The student's test will be tomorrow, so today, we mainly went over everything covered during our sessions so far. I quizzed him on the verbal list we created last session and he did well. All in all, I think his German has reached a satisfying level. We will meet tomorrow before his test to practice one last time."
"This lesson we finished going over adjective declinations and started working on an exercise together involving answering questions about what ethnic foods are more popular in our country or in Germany. We also used the questions as a starting point for a longer conversation in German on regional preferences, regional variations in quality, and personal food preferences. Homework is to finish the exercise, which involves reading a text and graph and answering questions on it, all in German."
"We were going over the student's homework and improved his pronunciation of German words. I left him with homework."
"The lesson went great. We discussed some of the vocabulary that we each had picked out from the article and some of the more difficult sentences. We discussed some German pronouns as well, such as "von" and how it should be used in a sentence. Pronouns can be difficult to use correctly, because it is not always similar to the way we use similar pronouns in English. I have updated the vocabulary lists as well so that we can practice them outside of the sessions as well. I look forward to the next session!"
"The student had a list of expressions that we put into sentences. We then used those sentences to practice conjugations and different tenses. Hausaufgaben: the student will finish the last 10 expressions and I will send 2 paragraphs about Berlin that the student will read and summarise briefly."
"The student significantly exceeded expectations. She is doing great, and shows increasing confidence and comfort and is picking up on things quicker and quicker. We finished up coordinating/ subordinating conjunctions and subsequent word order, and are now working on prepositional phrases/ objects and subsequent word order."
