Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is working on vectors and projectile motion, and so we began with an introduction to vectors and scalars and defined some scalar and vector quantities. We then worked on some review problems for her upcoming physics test on Monday. She has the basic idea behind vectors and scalars, and just needs some practice."
"We went over his new notes on waves - specifically, sound waves and electromagnetic waves. We spent most of the time on standing wave patterns in closed and open pipes and on strings. We also discussed how frequency affects pitch for sound and color for light. I created a reference sheet for him on all of the topics we covered, and he seemed to have a good understanding at the end of the session."
"We decided it was best to start from the first unit: momentum. We spent the session reviewing the basic concepts and equations with momentum and doing practice problems. The student seemed to understand the material as we went, she just needs more practice to be confident in how to approach problems. We will continue next time with momentum and move on to more complicated problems involving collisions."
